Java is one of the most popular programming languages out there. It was created in 1995 by Sun Microsystems and was then later acquired by Oracle. The open-source language is known for its versatility, security and portability to run on any platform. Java is used in big technologies, financial trading platforms, and e-commerce websites. It’s the brains behind Gmail, and has even left its footprint in the Curiosity Rover on Mars.
Other languages become easier to learn after you learn Java and it is because of this that it’s often the core programming language taught in many university Computer Science programs throughout the world. Java has evolved from the languages C and C++, which are also still widely used today. However, while Java shared many of the same core functionalities with C and C++, it is a much more beginner-friendly language.
